Jeff Koons, the renowned American pop artist, has revealed his collaboration with Dom Pérignon Champagne, a special edition “Balloon Venus” vessel for Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2003. Inspired by his own adaptation of the “Venus of Willendorf” sculpture, the decorative packaging has been designed in a compelling ‘balloon style’.

Jeff Koons and Dom Pérignon are two chronicles of the contemporary world, both enthused with originality and driven by imagination. Together, they have joined forces to produce an emblem of creative energy like never before. The Balloon Venus echoes the spiritual legacy of Dom Pierre Pérignon, a lasting inspiration for the wine creator, Chef de cave Richard Geoffroy.

The Balloon Venus accompanies the Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2003, which was revealed at the same time as the sculpture in New York. The two-foot tall polyurethane resin piece holds the affluent bottle in its bulbous belly, gracefully protecting it as its guardian.

The allure of the Balloon Venus invites the viewer to taste the fresh wine enclosed. With its packaging suited to feminine sensibilities, Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2003 is the very essence of luxury. Generous and sophisticated in taste, the vintage wine is deep in colour and revels in light amber and copper tints.

A limited edition designed and signed by Jeff Koons will be revealed on 10 September 2013. The purchase of the Balloon Venus for Dom Pérignon is limited; only 650 pieces will be available to buy for one year only. Each piece can be ordered through a bespoke service, handcrafted and made-to-order in France.
