Finally, East comes west. Friday 31st July sees the exciting launch of Storeys; a pop up food experience initiated by events company Afternoon Delight LDN. The event is taking place on the rooftop of one of West London’s most iconic buildings, the former BBC Car Park at the Television Centre in White City. The rooftop is set to be transformed in to a summer terrace hotspot and will feature striking artwork, mouth-watering street food and killer cocktails. Spread over two levels and spanning an impressive 24,000 square feet, Storeys will offer not only a vibrant and urban atmosphere but also magnificent panoramic views of West London.
For all the foodies out there, the line-up includes some of the UK’s best street food traders, including: French-American fusion wizards Le Bun, White Men Can’t Jerk: Caribbean street food with a twist, Crabbieshack: soft-shell Folkestone crab burgers, Randy’s Wing Bar: finger-licking buffalo wings and homemade hot sauce, En Brochette: a succulent skewered alternative to carb-heavy street food, Aji Ceviche: fresh Peruvian cuisine using Latin America’s finest ingredients, and more yet to be announced. Saturday and Sunday morning brunch will be served featuring, Nicaraguan coffee, organic tea, free range BBQ sausages and smoked bacon rolls.
For those with a sore head from the night before a hair of the dog might be just what you need, so grab a drink from the Bloody Mary bar and take a lie down in one of the comfortable double day beds. Meanwhile, expertly crafted rum cocktails will be found at the Rum Shack, while tropical fruit sharers, ice-cold beers and more will be available from the TV Bar. In collaboration with charitable organisation Somewhereto Storeys interior will be bold and contemporary, filled with flamboyant graphic designs and colourful wall murals by young artists aged 16-24 as well as many talented London Street artists.
Doors open from 5pm on Fridays and 11am on weekends. By-day there will game areas, yoga sessions on a Saturday by Serene Social and regular film screenings. By-night DJ sets will be providing a sunset summer soundtrack while you check out all the food and drink Storeys has to offer. For more information check out their website here.
