On Wednesday evening we were invited to join in the celebrations at the launch of the latest edition to the Hilton DoubleTree Family. The Docklands Riverside destination has been highly anticipated amongst Londoners and Travellers alike, being London’s first dry dock event space. After being collected from the Savoy Pier with a champagne arrival ferry, we were brought to the terrace of the hotel, which offers amazing views of the Thames and Canary Wharf.
We were guided through the huge array of food and drink options available at this impressive venue, which boasts 378 guests’ rooms, including 6 Junior Sweets. Whether you are looking for a quick snack or 3-course fine dining experience, this is definitely the place to be. The chefs from the Columbia restaurant were on hand to offer samplings of the menu, including a divine Chicken and Chorizo Burger. You could even sample the impressive dessert menu, which featured the DoubleTree Cookie Cheese Cake and dainty Lemon Meringue Pies. The quality of the ingredients was demonstrated with a charcuterie sampling boards, with a generous selection of smoked meats and cheeses.
To quench our thirst, our champagne was topped up, and we were offered a selection of cocktails, including the Columbia signature cocktail. The extensive wine selection features wines from Argentina and South Africa, and was on hand for sampling. Belvedere Vodka was displayed in gorgeous glass teapots to celebrate the launch of The Garden by Belvedere and Havana Rum cocktails were getting everyone in the party spirit. If inclined, you could also take a cigar from the selection to enjoy on the cigar terrace, located just outside the executive lounge area.
With live music performances and golden clad stilt walkers, the night was a fantastic introduction to the DoubleTree Docklands Riverside- a unique and character filled venue, which houses some great private dining rooms.
