The al fresco experience will take place on Thursday 13th June 2013 in London’s serene Soho Square, and best of all, it’s free!

Two-Michelin-starred chef has devised a menu for the exciting event which will adapt traditional English packed lunches into something slightly more refined. Chef Thierry Marx

“There is a growing recognition in the restaurant industry that we need to champion and celebrate simple, everyday food, and that it can be just as impressive as the most delicate truffle soufflé. My menu, which will remain a mystery until the event itself, will combine the freshest, best quality ingredients to create a truly memorable lunch break for our guests.”

The aesthetics of the picnic have been designed by general manager of the Michelin-starred restaurant and co-presenter of the BBC’s Michel Roux’s Service, Fred Sirieix.

Sirieix has aimed to instill a graceful and stylish imprint on his concept for Badoit Express’ look and feel. Aspects of the picnic restaurant will be drawn from conventional fine dining formalities, such as attentive waiting staff, silver service cloches, a string quartet, chandeliers and crisp, cotton napkins. Sirieix said: “This completely free, wonderful gastronomic experience to Londoners, exemplifies Badoit’s conviviality and easy elegance.”

The Badoit Express will open at 12:30pm on the 13th and will serve 100 people. Guests who would like to reserve a place at the picnic should send their name, party size and contact telephone number to . However, there will also be 50 places to accomodate for guests who arrive on the day. There will be a maximum of four people per blanket, and guests are advised to arrive promptly, as blankets will be offered to other guests 10 minutes after the reserved time.
