Christie’s is to hold an evening auction of ‘The Daphne Guinness Collection; Sold to Benefit the Isabella Blow Foundation’ at its South Kensington salesroom.
A highlight of the London fashion calendar, the auction and pre-sale exhibition of ‘The Daphne Guinness Collection’ includes 100 pieces from the personal wardrobe of one of fashion’s most contemporary pioneering muses.
Having famously bought the collection of the late Isabella Blow in 2011, so as to preserve it in its entirety, Daphne Guinness has decided to offer key looks from her own renowned collection for sale at Christie’s, helping her to launch the charity she has set up in Isabella Blow’s memory.
Here are some of our favourites set to go under the hammer, starting with a pair of Alexander McQueen boots, at an estimated price of £3,000 to £5,000.
A magnificent Christian Lacroix ball gown of midnight blue satin with beaded silk bows and black paste trailing ribbons at an estimated £4,000-6,000.
Another Alexander McQueen creation, and its accompanying photograph for Harper’s Bazaar UK, going for an estimated £15,000-20,000.
